What does Oppo think about the Evora?
Yay?
Or Nay?

Can't get beyond the fact that it shares its engine with six cylinder Camries.

Absolutely Yea. It's sleek, fast, comfortable, and a brilliant drive, as I understand it. I'd definitely take one over a Coxster.

Gorgeous. Also has a solid engine.

That's a bad thing?

It's a quick, good looking sportscar that has a bulletproof engine.

10/10?
![]() 10/25/2014 at 16:34 |

I'll give it a 9/10. Just because

Now if only the price was lower...

Definitely would pass up a 911 for one.
Also, I love the simple circular LED taillights.

I have no strong feelings one way or the other.
But it is way overpriced.

Yay.

It shares its engine with the Toyota Camry, Avalon, Aurion, RAV4, Previa, Sienna, Blade, Highlander, Harrier, Mark X Zio, Alphard, Vellfire, Venza, Super GT Corolla, Lexus ES and Lexus RX, most of which are either Minivans, SUVs or beige.

I still don't see the problem - ultra reliable supercharged V6 with more power than a Porsche Cayman GTS?
![]() 10/25/2014 at 18:13 |
|
Really? I know that it's slightly more expensive in the US due to exchange rates, but it's still only about the same as a Cayman S isn't it?
![]() 10/25/2014 at 18:17 |

Cayman S: $63,000
Cayman GTS: $75,000
Evora: $81,000
![]() 10/25/2014 at 18:24 |

Ouch. Is that for the Evora S though? The only figures I could find were from 2013 - $68k for the base model or $80k for the S which is a bit more than the Cayman S/GTS but not such a massive difference.
![]() 10/25/2014 at 18:27 |

That's what Google says, but if you look at Autotrader, Ebay, JamesEdition, and any website for any Lotus dealer, they all start at over $80k, and the S is over $90k.

There was a Solar Yellow one parked up my street a few summers ago - it looked pretty awesome from the outside.

Isn't that just dealers being scumbags due to there not being any federal 2015 models though? I imagine when the refreshed ones show up next year they'd be back to RRP?
![]() 10/25/2014 at 18:44 |

This. I don't understand the Lotus power plant origin hate. It's not like the engine is dropped straight from a Camry into an Evora.
![]() 10/25/2014 at 18:51 |

In the base model it is, but even then we're talking about a bulletproof engine with similar kind of specs to the Honda NSX. And who in their right mind would argue with that?
But then, I'm not big on top-trumps.

I was just being factual.

I'd rock one, it's different. Too many 911's, Corvettes, M3s

*if
And that could be it.

Mighty fine car.
![]() 10/26/2014 at 16:58 |

At least it will work properly then. Plus, theres a lot of good cars with humble engine originz, like the Noble M600.

Probably wouldn't spend my own money on one, but at least its unique.
